When I was a budding feminist pre-teen in the early 1980s, I read an older book that advised educated women to NOT learn to type. Once office men learn you can type, you become the secretary even if your job is supposed to be actuary (or such.) I took this to heart, did not take typing in high school, and was left behind once personal computers were everywhere. I'm now 55 and still can't touch type! (LP)
